Akupanels come in two lengths, 240 cm and 300 cm. Your wall almost never does.
Decorating with acoustic panels is an excellent way to improve both the acoustics and the aesthetics of your home. But what happens when you encounter challenges such as high ceilings? This is where our end lamellas come in as an elegant and practical solution.

Akupanels come in two lengths, 240 cm and 300 cm. Your wall almost never does.
That leftover strip at the top is where end lamellas come in, and they are not a patch. Set one along the ceiling, along the floor or right across a tall wall, and the gap turns into a line that frames the whole wall.
Below: what an end lamella is, how to use it on high walls, where to put the line, how to frame a single panel, and a short checklist for planning yours.
Add chapter blocks to build this list.
An end lamella is a finishing strip in the same finish as your Akupanel.
It is MDF veneered on three sides, so its face and both edges match the slats beside it. Glued along the edge of your panel wall, it covers the felt edge and closes the gap to the ceiling, the floor or the wall next to it.
It comes in two depths. Pick the one that matches how your Akupanels are mounted. The deeper one, shown here in Classic Oak, also draws a bolder line when you want the frame to stand out.
✔️ 2.2 cm deep: For Akupanels mounted straight on the wall
✔️ 6.7 cm deep: For Akupanels on battens, or for a bolder line
✔️ 240 cm long in every finish, and 300 cm in the 2.2 cm natural wood finishes
✔️ Natural Wood, Wood-like and Colored finishes, to match your Akupanel

A tall wall does not need a taller Akupanel. It needs a plan for the join.
When one Akupanel cannot reach the ceiling, stack two. Then lay an end lamella across the wall where they meet. Instead of a seam you would rather hide, you get one clean line, and it looks like a choice, because it is one.
Finish the top against the ceiling and the bottom against the floor the same way, and the wall reads as one framed piece, however high the room goes.
Annica's gable wall shows how it works: two rows of Classic Oak slats with a line running straight across, and a clean edge on both sides. See Annica's home.
✔️ Stack two Akupanels to cover a high wall
✔️ Lay an end lamella across the join for a clean line
✔️ Finish the top and bottom for a framed look

The line between two Akupanels does not have to sit wherever the first one happens to end.
You can cut the lower Akupanel to length, so put the line where it suits the room. Line it up with something that is already there, like the top of a door opening, a window or a shelf. Then the wall feels designed around the room, not the other way round.
In Mathilda's dining room, the walnut wall rises far above the door, and the line runs just over the door opening. The lower part frames the dining area, the upper part carries the height. See Mathilda's home.
✔️ Line it up with a door, a window or a shelf
✔️ Keep it level all the way across the wall
✔️ Choose the same finish as the slats for a calm look

End lamellas are not only for the top and bottom. Run them up the sides too, and a single Akupanel becomes a framed feature.
That is the trick in Mathilda's kitchen: one narrow walnut Akupanel set into a niche and finished along its edges, so it looks built in.
The same works in the middle of a bare wall. Mount an Akupanel in 240 cm or 300 cm, or Akupixel, our square panel, and frame it on all four sides.
✔️ Frame the sides as well as the top and bottom
✔️ Works on a single panel, in a niche or across a whole wall
✔️ Akupanel in both lengths and Akupixel can all be framed

Plan your end lamellas together with your Akupanels, and the finish comes together on the day.
Five things to settle before you order:
✔️ Finish: Choose the same finish as your Akupanel
✔️ Depth: 2.2 cm for Akupanels on the wall, 6.7 cm for Akupanels on battens
✔️ Edges: Measure every edge you want to finish (top, bottom, sides and any join) and add them up
✔️ Length: 240 cm, or 300 cm in the 2.2 cm natural wood finishes
✔️ Mounting: Put mounting glue on the back, press it against the wall at the panel edge so the felt edge is covered, check it with a spirit level and let the glue set
Whatever the height of your room, end lamellas let you decide where the wall begins, where it ends and where the line goes.
Pick the finish that matches your Akupanel, choose the depth, and frame your wall your way.

Frame your Akupanel wall with end lamellas in the same finish: At the ceiling, at the floor or right across the middle.
